What is the STCW Proficiency in Security Awareness course and who is it for? This course is for all seafarers employed or engaged in any capacity on ships required to comply with the ISPS code are required to undertake the PSA course. The course provides necessary knowledge for personnel intending to work on ships who will not have any designated security duties. Upon completion, candidates should be able to demonstrate competence to: i) Contribute to the enhancement of maritime security through heightened awareness ii) Recognise security threats iii) Understand the need for and methods of maintaining security awareness and vigilance. Course Certification: Upon successful completion you will be awarded a certificate in accordance with Regulation VI/6, paragraph 1 and Section A-VI/6, paragraphs 4 of the STCW Convention and Code 1978.
