Who is the course suitable for?
Anyone looking to begin or continue working in the offshore renewable energy industry. It is a requirement that offshore workers in the renewable energy industry hold a valid, in date GWO Sea Survival certificate. This certificate can be refreshed every 2 years by successfully completing a 1 day GWO Sea Survival Refresher course.
What is covered in the course?
The GWO Sea Survival course covers a wide variety of practical and theoretical techniques which are required to operate safely offshore. The training is carried out in our maritime training centre which gives delegates experience training in a safe, open water environment.
What assessments are there?
Delegates will complete a practical and written multiple choice assessment as part of the GWO Sea Survival course
Are there any entry requirements?
We require you to complete a medical assessment form to screen any medical issues you may have.
Must be 18 or over
Must have an appropriate level of English
What do you need to bring?
Footwear and clothing you don’t mind getting wet
You should complete the rest of your GWO Basic Safety Training
GWO Working at Height & Rescue
GWO First Aid
GWO Fire Awareness
GWO Manual Handling
